Job Description:

As a Customs and Compliance Specialist you are responsible for the accurate and timely handling of customs formalities for import and export of all shipments. To ensure the customs documents are prepared and processed accurately, with the necessary documents and certificates obtained. In addition, maintain key relationships with the relevant government authorities, and other parties involved to ensure the goods pass through customs and other relevant processes in a smooth & timely manner.

 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare all relevant customs documentation for import and export of Lifeplus goods.
  • Liaising with customs authorities and other 3rd parties to ensure the smooth flow of goods in and out of the warehouse.
  • Completing and maintaining all actions in the Duty management system; Gateway in a timely manner.
  • Ensure necessary permits & paperwork are completed and submitted on time.
  • Keep up to date with changes in customs laws and regulations that impact the business and its processes.
  • Communicate changes to the Supply Chain Manager, Warehouse and other stakeholders across the business.
  • Maintain and record all customs processes and documentation in relation to the bonded warehouse ensuring that all processes are auditable.
  • The ability to review compliance in all areas of our Customs Warehouse license, through working with relevant stakeholders and escalating any findings to the Supply Chain Manager.

 

Profile:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Customs and Compliance Specialist or equivalent role
  • knowledge of customs import/export regulations from outside the EU
  • Knowledge and understanding of commodity codes binding tariffs
  • Diploma in the field of customs matters or similar.
  • Experience of Bonded Warehousing preferable but not essential
  • Good communication skills, in both verbal and written in Dutch & English
  • Well organised and able to manage multiple documents and processes ready for inspections and audits.
  • Able to offer solutions to challenges based on experience and knowledge.
  • Good computer skills especially Microsoft office, Word & Excel

Hours and Days:

  • 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00
